Connecting to Your Database

First time setup

Depending on which type of database you're trying to connect to, we have guides for them in the left menu.

If you'd like to share your connection with your organization, check out our doc on shared connections.

Managing/switching connections

To manage or switch connections, look for the dropdown near the top left of the app. As a shortcut, you can press Cmd+3 to open the connection manager.

Automatically switch connections when you switch queries

You might have some queries that are meant to be run against one connection (eg Postgres), and other queries that are meant to be run against another connection (eg Snowflake). PopSQL will remember which connection you used with each query and automatically switch connections for you. You can disable this behavior in Preferences > Connections.
