AWS IAM Authentication for Cloud Connections

We're excited to announce an enhancement to our connection capabilities: PopSQL now supports AWS IAM authentication in cloud connections! Whether you're using Okta or user credentials, or an IAM profile, we've got you covered.

Key Features:

• Diverse Authentication Methods: Choose from IAM credentials, an IAM profile, or Okta to suit your authentication preferences.

• Okta Integration: Authenticate seamlessly using the AWS Account Federation through Okta. Supply your Okta organization, the App Embed Url, region, role, and your Okta credentials.

• Easy Setup with Credentials: Simply provide your Region, AWS Access Key ID, AWS Secret Access Key, and optionally the AWS Session Token. Acquire these details through the My Security Credentials page on AWS or have them provided by your admin.

• Multi-factor Authentication (MFA): Extra security is paramount. If your AWS account requires MFA, PopSQL will prompt you for the token, caching it until expiration.

Not Yet Supported:

• Dashboards: While we've integrated most of PopSQL's cloud features (like scheduling, query links, Slack notifications, the web app, and dbt integration), dashboards with AWS IAM authentication are still on our roadmap.
