We're thrilled to introduce exciting updates to the latest version of PopSQL. These changes enhance performance and improve the overall user experience, making your SQL workflow even more seamless and efficient.

Introducing On-Demand Schema Loading

The Schema Explorer in PopSQL now loads schema data only as-needed. Previously, the full database schema was stored in local memory. With this update, we have significantly reduced the amount of cached data, resulting in improved performance. Customers with very large database schemas will particularly benefit from this change.

šŸš—šŸ’Ø We have seen a 50% decrease across PopSQL users in the amount of schema data loaded and stored locally in the app thanks to this update. That means there is a lot more memory available to keep the app snappy and hold query results without slowing down.

Server-Side Search and Autocomplete

To further enhance performance, we have moved Search and Autocomplete from the PopSQL client to PopSQL's server infrastructure. By offloading these processes, we've freed up even more resources to optimize app performance.

We're committed to delivering the best possible experience for our users, and these updates are a testament to that commitment. We value your feedback and continually strive to improve PopSQL to meet your SQL needs.
